Nigam is a self-taught artist from Nepal whose creative journey began as a personal outlet for emotional expression during her preteen years. Now based in the DFW area, she is an active member of the Visual Arts Guild of Frisco and the Visual Arts League of Allen, regularly showcasing her work in local exhibitions across McKinney, Plano, Allen, and Frisco.
Blending geometric lines with elements of surrealism, realism, and cubism, Nigam creates powerful visual narratives that explore emotion, identity, and transformation. Rooted in her cultural background and life experiences, each piece begins as a written reflection and evolves into a visual story—one that seeks to connect, provoke thought, and offer catharsis.
Her work has been featured in Physician Outlook Magazine, and highlighted in an interview with SoMeDocs Magazine. Through events like the McKinney Art Festival and Art in the Arena, Nigam continues to build community, using art as both a personal and collective expression.
I paint to process discomfort and transform it into something meaningful. My work blends geometric lines, surrealism, realism, and cubism to create visual narratives rooted in my life, culture, and artistic journey.
Each piece is a release, an invitation for others to find connection and catharsis.
My work is inspired by life, culture, and personal experiences, often reflecting discomfort, memory, and emotional nuance. I draw from sensory moments, architecture, and the spirit of places, creating visual stories that evoke catharsis and connection.
I primarily use acrylic paint on linen and cotton canvases, working with brushes, an easel, and other traditional tools to bring each piece to life.
Each piece begins with design and thoughtful redesign until the composition feels resolved. I then sketch, block in color, build depth through highlights and shading, and apply final touches to achieve clarity and emotional impact until I am satisfied. Each piece takes about a month to complete.
